Cary
Jellison is a complete outdoorsman, having prowled the waters and outdoor terrain
of Nevada and northern California since he was a child. Having grown up in the
Auburn region, Cary is committed to the conservation and ethical use of the area's
natural resources. After years of fly fishing, hunting, camping, rafting, and
hiking, Cary started his own guide service, G & J Outdoor Enterprises, in
1995. With a desire to introduce young people to the outdoors and a willingness
to tailor trips to meet a client's individual needs, Cary has quickly built a
reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable guide.
For the fly angler, Cary offers clients an intimate knowledge of the region's trout and steelhead waters on the American, Feather, and Yuba rivers. With a staunch commitment to the conservation of America's cold water fisheries, the Trout Unlimited member and Hyde drift boat pro-staff member offers anglers a chance to sample some of northern California's finest fly fishing action.
For the hunter, Cary offers expert guiding for elk, mule deer, chukar and wild turkey hunting in both California and Nevada. A member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the National Rifle Association, the Mule Deer Foundation, and the Nevada Outfitters and Guides Association, Cary looks to make hunts not only successful, but also enjoyable and educational. Due to his well-honed skills and quality hunting properties, clients who hunt with Cary commonly book hunts year after year.
Cary is no stranger to fishing and hunting success on either side of the California/Nevada state line. Anglers and hunters who book a trip with G & J Outdoor Enterprises will not be disappointed.
